§ 13.1-2. Municipal judges; appointment, term, powers and duties.

  • (a)

    Municipal judge; term. There shall be an officer of the City known as the municipal judge, who shall be appointed by Council to serve for a term of four (4) years and until his successor is appointed.

    (b)

    Assistant municipal judge; term. There shall be an officer of the city known as assistant municipal judge, who shall be a part-time judge, appointed by council to a term of four (4) years and until his successor is appointed.

    (c)

    Duties; powers. The municipal judges shall have such duties and exercise such powers as provided by Chapter 25 of Title 14 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, as amended.
